Executive Orders for Emergency Preparedness

On Wednesday, Jan. 16, President Obama signed executive actions to reduce gun violence in the wake of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. His set of 23 proposals would ban automatic weapons, limit magazines to 10 bullets, introduce universal background checks for all firearms buyers, and increase scrutiny of mental health patients. There are just a few steps in what he calls actions to reduce the threat of mass shootings.
